Summary

In 2018/19, The Lili_u Project collaborated with Ceeds of Peace and M_lama Honua Charter School in an Educational Outreach project titled ÒPeaceful Action Through MeleÓ. Together with MHCS 5th & 6th grade students, we offered the song Ku_u Pua I Paoakalani on January 17th, on the 126th anniversary of the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom. The performance took place in the room where it was composed in 1895 during the QueenÕs imprisonment. This initial interaction led to an invitation to participate in 100 Offerings of Peace. The song Ke Aloha o ka Haku (The LordÕs Mercy), which we share here, was also composed in isolation while under House Arrest, and is a meditation on forgiveness and inner healing. by Starr Kalahiki and The Lili_u Project, Spiritual Arts, USA / Honolulu, HI, Day 99 / October 30, 2020.
