"Kindness Tree"
Activity
Summary
Participants will role-play acts of kindness and keep track of the thoughtful acts being shared by decorating a kindness tree.
Instructional Strategies
1. Plant an Act of Kindness tree in your classroom. It should be large enough to be decorated throughout the year, but small enough to maintain.
2. Have your class role-play one act of kindness each week with words or actions.
3. When acts of kindness are noticed or a classmate shares an act of kindness they received from another child/student (this can be done in circle time), they get to color a decoration and hang it as an ornament on the tree.
4. Your class can watch the kindness grow over the year, and also learn responsibility by taking care of the tree
