"Build a Shelter"

Summary
Participants practice cooperation, communication, and group decision-making skills to build a shelter using few supplies
Instructional Strategies
1. Challenge participants to build a shelter with a limited number and type of materials (ie. no more than 20 items) and within a designated amount of time.
2. Participants work in small groups; all opinions are welcome and encouraged.
3. The shelter does not need to be �attractive� or even fully functional.
4. The focus is on the process of thinking critically, communicating respectfully, and staying committed.
