Summary
Participants will create a core team of active listeners and collaboraters that can guide a problem-solving attempt.
Instructional Strategies
1. While in the discovery phase of problem-solving, listen for who might be effective in serving on a core team of community action partners.
2. Listen for interest, skills and other referenced leaders in the community.
3. Get participants to sit quietly and "listen" with you when exploring solutions to problems in the community.
4. Who do they hear?
5. Who needs assistance?
6. What voices merit more careful listening?
7. What are possible solutions and who are the core people who might help in reaching them?
8. Youth teams can be formed to come up with actionable plans.
