Participants will share stories that cover a wide range of topics to educate others about past experiences and guide future plans.
Instructional Strategies
1. Apply the Hawaiian tradition of storytelling or tradition-sharing.
2. Use classical Hawaiian stories to teach literacy, science, and culture.
3. Your students will build their own personal stories and learn the stories of the community, the culture, and the past.
4. This enables a better understanding of the lessons of the past as they guide our actions in the future.
5. Have youth interview others and build oral histories of their own communities.
